St. Louis native Julie Longyear founded Blissoma Skincare. Longyear is an herbal chemist who believes in promoting inner beauty rather than marketing based on insecurity and fears. She wants her brand to help people feel better about themselves and their skin, not worse. I love Blissoma because it is one of the few green skincare brands that cater to multiple skin types. They have five skincare “Ecosystems” that are: Sustain (Normal/Combo), Rescue (Acne), Soothe (Dry/Sensitive), Renew (Well-Aging), or Defend (All). I have had the chance to try most of Blissoma’s products. I am sharing my Blissoma Skincare Review below!
Free – Rejuvenating Herbal Gel Cleanser + Makeup Remover
This is my favorite Blissoma cleanser. It’s a creamy gel formulation. The gel aspect allows my skin to be cleansed appropriately and removes makeup, but the creaminess makes it super gentle. I love the scent as well. It has a Strawberry Laffy Taffy scent. Honestly, I’ve never smelled a natural, botanical cleanser like this! Find the Free Cleanser HERE.
Blissoma Rice Facial Cleaner
I have enjoyed the Blissoma Rice Cleanser! It uses a light whole brown rice flour as a physical exfoliant. The flour is suspended in a creamy base. IT IS MORE INTENSE when I use it on dry skin without water. When I add water to the cleanser before applying it to my face, the rice flour exfoliant breaks down and is more gentle. I love the versatility of this cleanser and the lemongrass herbal scent. Find it HERE.
Blissoma Sensitive Care Complex Toner
My favorite Blissoma toner is their Serene Sacred Waters Tonique. It is lightweight and hydrating and works for even the most sensitive skin types. This toner does not irritate or inflame the skin, making it a safe option for all skin types. The base is water infused with gentian root and a holy basil distillate water. It feels so refreshing on my face! Find it HERE.
Blissoma Skincare Review Toner Intense
The Blissoma Intense Hydration Tonique is more intense than the Sacred Waters Tonique. It has Dead Sea Salts in it, which have a ton of minerals but can also sting the eyes a bit. The base is a fusion of various herbs and plants infused in water. This is a nourishing product, but I don’t think it would be the best option for sensitive or dry skin. If you are interested in the Intense Toner, find it HERE.
Aura – Phyto Brightening Serum
This is one of my favorite Vitamin C serums. It is so lightweight and effective! I noticed some turnover, and the light brown spots on my face started to fade after using it. I like to use this serum morning and evening. It absorbs into the skin so effortlessly. Aura is not too jelly or too watery. It has just the right consistency to wear under a light day moisturizer or heavier evening moisturizer. Find the serum HERE.
Flawless – Clear Condition Facial Oil
I purchased the Flawless Clear Condition Facial Oil on a whim. It was available at my hometown spa, and I really needed a guasha oil. I was pretty impressed with it, as I knew nothing about it before purchasing. It has a wheat or oat scent to it. It absorbs into the skin, not leaving your face greasy or oily– just nourished. I would recommend and/or repurchase. Find it HERE.
Peace – Evening Calming Elixir
The Peace and Awake Moisturizers are two of the best herbal concoctions I have come across. Peace is not just a moisturizer. It is a hydrator. It has an intense concentration of seaweed and essential oils. The seaweed makes for a hydrating elixir, while shea butter adds a moisture element to the product. Truly one of the most exquisite nighttime moisturizers. Find it HERE.
Awake – Morning Firming Facial Moisture
The base of the Awake moisturizer is leaf instead of seaweed. It is a little lighter than the Peace. Awake has a similar herbal concoction, but suits daytime use better. It absorbs into the skin so seamlessly. It does not have any shea butter in it, so the texture is very airy. Again, I love both Peace and Awake. Both are necessary in my Blissoma routine for hydrated skin. Find Awake HERE.
Blissoma Skincare Review Mask
The Refine Mask is a creamy exfoliating mask. I love this mask because it is clay-based but does not dry out the skin. It uses rhassoul clay, celery juice enzymes, and zinc to exfoliate, detoxify, and improve the appearance of skin tone. It has a light herbal citrus scent to it to awaken the senses. Find it HERE.
Blissoma Photonic Review
I saved the best for last. My all-time favorite Blissoma skin care product is the Photonic. I have repurchased this SPF multiple times. It has such a lightweight texture and wears wonderfully under makeup. This SPF LEAVES NO WHITE CAST! What?! I know, seriously, the best. The pink hue it has is NOT for tinting the skin. It is Astaxanthin, a red algae ingredient that is rich in antioxidants. Find my favorite sunscreen HERE.
