Four years ago, I purchased an Avocado Mattress for myself and my husband. I chose Avocado because it was relatively affordable, under $2,000, and made with organic materials. It was important to me to have an organic mattress because of all the chemicals traditional mattress brands use in their manufacturing process. We spend 1/3 of our lives in bed, so breathing in those chemicals didn’t sound appealing to me. So, I purchased the Avocado Green Mattress in a king size. After a few years of sleeping on our organic bed, I am finally ready to share my Avocado Mattress Review.
Is Avocado A Firm Mattress?
Avocado Green Mattress calls their mattress “gentle firm.” I would agree with this assessment. I have found the Avocado to be much firmer than other mattresses I’ve tried. Is Avocado Mattress Healthy?
Avocado Mattresses are certified organic. They are made with certified organic latex harvested from organic rubber farms, certified organic cotton, and certified organic wool. (I didn’t know this before, but wool is known for its cooling and moisture-wicking properties.) Avocado mattresses are also certified by MADE SAFE®; only three mattress brands globally have achieved this certification. Do Avocado Mattresses Smell?
NO! Avocado Mattresses do not smell. One of the reasons I was on the hunt for an organic mattress is that non-organic brands use smelly chemicals in their foam, including chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), formaldehyde, benzene, methylene chloride, toluene, trichloroethane, naphthalene, perfluorocarbons. How Many Years Does An Avocado Mattress Last?
Avocado has built their mattresses to last 25 years, and they offer a 25-year limited warranty. A full warranty covers the first ten years, and beginning on year 11; they offer a limited warranty. Is Avocado Mattress heavy?
I find the Avocado Mattress to be very heavy. It is not your grandma’s spring mattress. It has fabric handles on both sides to help lift the bed when necessary. My Avocado Mattress Review
My husband and I have loved our Avocado Mattress! It was easy to assemble. It came shrink-wrapped in a box. We had to pull it out and let it fluff up. That was it! We feel little movement from one another when we are on our respective sides. Our dogs will even jump up to join us when we are asleep, and neither feels it. I like that it is firm, and the material is soft enough to cuddle up and get a good night’s rest. I’m looking to get another Avocado for our guest room– that is how much I love ours!
