Beauty Heroes has had a ton of releases this month. They recently introduced Blissoma to their green skincare store. Blissoma has been a long-time favorite holistic skincare line of mine! Paume is another new luxury antibacterial hand sanitizer that Beauty Heroes released as a discovery recently. Foria is a sexual and reproductive line that is new at Beauty Heroes too. They focus on sexual wellness using CBD as their main ingredient. LastObject is another new brand for the Beauty Heroes store. They provide zero-waste solutions for everyday single-use products. The Beauty Heroes store in Novato is now open for facials as well. I recently received the Hero Worship Facial from the in-house esthetician Emily. Beauty Heroes May 2021 Discovery: Blissoma
I was pumped to see Blissoma as the May 2021 Beauty Heroes Discovery. Blissoma has been a long-time favorite skincare line of mine. It was founded in St Louis, Missouri, by Julie Longyear. Julie is a herbal chemist who has used her expertise to create skin balancing products with plants as the heart of her formulation.
Beauty Heroes May 2021 Hero: Blissoma Photonic
One of my favorite sunscreens (the above pic will tell you this isn’t my first bottle of this stuff) was featured as this month’s hero product, the Photonic Light Shifting Solution SPF25. I recently used this product in a morning routine TikTok, and someone asked me what that “tinted sunscreen is.” Well, this guy isn’t tinted. The Photonic is a light pink shade but is translucent, which is seen once blended out. Photonic’s translucent light pink color comes from astaxanthin, a red algae ingredient very high in antioxidants.
Some other amazing ingredients in The Photonic include:
- Argan and Tamanu oils come from the world’s sunniest regions and have been used for centuries to protect the skin.
- Organic Sesame Seed Oil, Red Raspberry Seed Oil, and Blackberry Seed Oil are lightweight and support zinc oxide’s sun-protective benefits.
- Niacinamide at 3% promotes even skin tone and provides all-day hydration retention.
- Black Tea, Gotu Kola, and Hydrangea support skin’s elasticity and resilience.
I have found The Photonic to be a bit drying if I use it by itself. I get the best results when I use it with a lightweight moisturizer, like this one from Live Botanicals underneath.
Beauty Heroes May 2021 Sidekick: Aura
This month’s Sidekick is the Aura Photo Brightening Serum. This serum is excellent for pre and post-sun treatment. The plant-based ingredients are rich in antioxidants and include:
- Pomegranate Extract, Fermented Wasabi Extract, and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate are used for powerful antioxidant support.
- Coenzyme Q10 improves the appearance of firmness.
- Acai is rich in omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. These fatty acids help the skin to appear more smooth and soft.
- Baobab has natural anti-inflammatory properties.
I have enjoyed this serum, and I use it morning and evening after my toner. My skin is appearing more toned, and I highly recommend it!
Paume Limited Edition Discovery
Beauty Heroes most recent Limited Edition Discovery is by the luxury antibacterial hand gel line, Paume. Paume is a newer line to me, and I hadn’t heard of them until this release. Paume believes, “Your hands do it all. They express joy and offer comfort; allow you to connect with people. They are the natural extension of you.” Sanitizing ingredients include:
- 69% Ethyl Alcohol that kills 99.9% of harmful germs and bacteria
- Aloe Vera Powder prevents itchiness and dryness
- Witch Hazel that helps with inflammation
- Essential Oils Used for Scent: Cedarwood, Lavender, Rosemary, Lemon, and Orange
The Essentials+ Limited Edition includes two travel bottles, one home pump, and one refill bag. The refill bag contains enough to fill the home pump twice or the travel bottles five times.
I like the design of the home pump— super modern in design. The packaging is designed using recycled plastic. I keep it by my front door to use when returning home from errands or walking the dogs.
This hand sanitizer does not dry out my hands! Over the past year, I’ve used too many that do. I also like the scent. It is uni-sex and has that woodsy, earthy thing going for it.
Foria Limited Edition Discovery
Did you know that May is National Masturbation Month? I had no clue either! In time for this month of real self-love, Beauty Heroes added Forin to their repertoire. Forin is a line of sexual health that focuses on intimacy, relief, and wellbeing for people with vulvas. Beauty Heroes released two Limited Edition Discoveries featuring Foria’s CBD-based products: Arousal and Relief.
Foria Intimacy
The products included in the Arouse Limited Edition Discovery are Awaken Arousal Oil with CBD, Natural Lubricant with CBD, and Suppositories with CBD.
Awaken Arousal Oil is a CBD-based sexual wellness oil that uses broad-spectrum organic hemp, MCT Coconut Oil, kava kava root, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, mint, and cacao. All of these ingredients help with slip, stimulation, and tension.
Natural Lubricant (or Sex Oil) with CBD provides moisture to any body part. There are only two organic ingredients in this lubricant: MCT coconut oil and broad-spectrum hemp. These ingredients provide for more comfortable, pain-free sex!
Suppositories with CBD are formulated with organic cocoa butter and broad-spectrum hemp. Suppositories can be used pre or post-sex to enhance arousal or soothe soreness.
These are all great ways to heat things up in your intimate life. I have been using the Awaken Arousal Oil and the Suppositories, which have made for more fun sex. This combo heats things in the nether regions and relaxes my muscles for deeper penetration. (Yes, I went there.) I haven’t broken into the Sex Oil yet. If I have a quickie with my husband, I will, but lubrication is not an issue yet.
Foria Relief
There are two products included in the Relief Limited Edition Discovery, the Relief Suppositories with CBD and Bath Salts with CBD and Kava.
Relief CBD Suppositories are for those of us who have painful cramping before or during our periods. (Us is me, I have painful cramping before my period.) These are formulated with organic hemp and organic cocoa butter.
Bath Salts with CBD and Kava contain an uplifting blend of fir, eucalyptus, peppermint oil, and cedar tips. These salts help soothe PMS pain with mineral-rich Epsom salts, kava kava, arnica, ginger, and hemp.
The Relief Suppositories were the first Foria product that I tried. I used them the wrong way, and I don’t want others to make the same mistake… Instead of inserting them inside of myself, I warmed the capsule in my palms and rubbed it on my lower belly. Once I learned how to use them the right way, I found relief from the intense cramps I get the two days before my period. I have found relief with the bath salts as well. I also get low back cramps, and soaking with these salts has helped ease that pain.
Beauty Heroes Facial and Last Object
The Beauty Heroes store in Novato is open for facials! I received a 75-minute Hero Worship facial last week, and I documented the journey above. This facial felt magical, and I would highly recommend checking it out for some TLC before summer comes.
LastObject launched at Beauty Heroes at the end of April, and I want to mention them briefly because I have LOVED their LastRound. They aren’t like the typical microfiber reusable rounds and are instead a wool blend. When you get them damp, they feel like a single-use cotton round. Beauty Heroes still has a few of the Earth Day Limited Edition LastObject bundles left, and they include LastSwab Basic, LastSwab Beauty, LastTissue, LastRound, and a laundry bag.
