I was excited when I saw that the August Detox Box featured a new French brand, Huygens! Before I got into clean beauty, my favorite brands were French; Guerlain, L’Oreal, and Lancôme. This box includes three new products to me: Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate, Organic Night Repair Oil, and Eye Contour Cream.
Huygens Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate Detox Box
One of the distinguishing factors of Huygens is the scent. It is light and smells like cucumber. Most green skincare lines use warmer scents like jasmine, so it is a pleasant surprise that the smell of Huygens is fresh and different. The Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate (Retail Price $44) has a gel base of rose water, aloe, and hyaluronic acid. I love the texture of this because it is thick yet super absorbent on the skin. My skin is glowy and hydrated using this guy.
Huygens Eye Contour Cream Detox Box
My favorite products from the box are the Hyaluronic Acid Concentrate and the Eye Contour Cream. The Eye Cream (Retail Price $35) is lightweight with an avocado oil base. They claim that the cucumber extract restores brightness and combats puffiness. I think it really helps a lot! My under-eye region is hydrated and bright. I don’t suffer from puffiness, so I cannot speak on that.
Huygens Organic Night Repair Oil Detox Box
The final product in the August box is the Organic Night Repair Oil (Retail Price $44). Honestly, I am never excited to get facial oil in a subscription box. I use oil very sparingly and only when I guasha. I already have two opened, and they will last me quite a while. The oil base of this sounds excellent. It includes argan, hazelnut, sweet almond, and jojoba. But, I can’t speak on the effectiveness, as I haven’t opened it yet.
Overall, I am pleased with this month’s Detox Box. I have really enjoyed the serum and eye cream. I have yet to open the oil, it has excellent ingredients, but I don’t want to waste my other opened oils.
